Housing Information
Due to anticipated residence hall projects and residence hall use in Summer 2026, one residence hall is available for summer student housing. Housing will be in the style of rooms available. Housing is expected to be 2 people in a double room and 1 person in a single room. Availability is based on the building being used for Summer Housing, and housing placement determined by the Residence Life Staff. Submission of an application does not guarantee housing. Confirmation of housing will be sent after being processed. RU Students, must be registered for Fall 2026 classes at RU to live on-campus over the summer.

- Summer Housing will be available from May 11, 2026 to August 15, 2026 for Rockford University students. Dates are subject to change at the discretion of the Residence Life Staff. All approved summer residents will be notified in writing if the dates change. Residents may be subject to fines for damages to University property and/or failure to comply with the directions provided to you by the Residence Life Staff. Final determination rests with the Residence Life Staff. Summer residents may also be asked to move to another building on short notice due to summer maintenance schedules and projects.
- Summer Intern Housing will be available May 18, 2026-July 25, 2026.
- All Rockford University students residing on campus over the summer are anticipated to move into the summer residence hall during the weekend of May 17, 2026. Residnece Life will provide the specific date of move when summer rooms are ready for occupancy. (Specific move dates will be determined by the Residence Life Staff when rooms are available and may change). Failure to move on the assigned date can result in summer housing being denied.
- Summer Housing at Rockford University is not guaranteed. Summer Housing is limited to what is available in the Summer Residence Hall. It is important to adhere to the application deadlines and be registered for Fall 2026 classes. Final determination of all summer housing assignments rests with the Residence Life Staff.
- This contract is due for processing and verification,no later than Noon (12:00 pm) on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Summer Housing Contracts will not be available after April 14, 2026.
- Residents are responsible for paying the summer room rate. Rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Rooms will be assigned at designed occupancy 2 people in a double, 1 person in a single.
- Students must be eligible residential students for Fall 2026. This includes, but is not limited to being registered for Fall semester 2026 (must be registered for a minimum of 12 credit hours) and being in good disciplinary standing. Summer housing will not be approved until availaility of housing space is determined and registration is verified with SAS.
- All summer housing residents will be required to pay in full or work out payment arrangements with SAS for their summer housing bill prior to May 1, 2026. Summer residents who have not taken care of this provision will not be allowed to move into summer housing until financial obligations to the University are met, and will be required to move out of the Spring 2026 housing when their academic year contract ends on Friday, May 8, 2026.
- Rockford University Residents will be required to move out of summer
  housing in early August 2026 and into their fall housing assignment. Residence Life Staff will notify residents of the move date when Fall 2026 rooms are ready for occupancy. Summer housing residents will not be allowed to move into their fall room assignment if financial obligations for the summer have not been met. Verification with SAS will determine whether or not the student has met their obligation.
- ALL Rockford University campus policies (as outlined in the Student Handbook online) will remain in effect during summer. Violations of any campus policies will result in immediate termination of housing privileges.
- It must also be understood that break periods are used by maintenance and housekeeping staff for special repairs and cleaning services. These projects may result in temporary inconveniences (i.e. limited access to facilities, hall relocation, noise, or reduced hot water.)
Fee Schedule for Summer Housing 2026:

Billing for summer housing begins the week of May 11, 2026 and runs through August 14,2026 (a total of 14 weeks for RU Students). Students staying in the residence halls for any portion of a week will be charged for the entire week. There will be no refunds given for days/nights not used. Students must make arrangements with SAS for payment prior to May 1, 2026.

Rockford University Students taking classes at Rockford University- Summer 2026 will be charged the following:

Rockford University Students and Interns not taking classes at Rockford University -Summer 2026 will be charged the following:

Flat Rate: $129.00/week

Summer Housing Contract Agreement:

I understand and agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions listed in this contract, including my financial obligations to Rockford University. I understand that summer housing is available on a first come first served basis and no roommate preference will be available under these circumstances. I understand that I may be assigned a roommate at anytime during the summer and that all attempts to notify me of this change will be made by the Residence Life Staff. I also understand that failure to adhere to the terms and conditions listed above can result in the immediate removal from summer housing. I am aware that the other residence halls are off limits during summer and any potential entrance to these buildings without prior permission from the Residence Life Staff is a violation of the terms and conditions listed in this contract. I understand that I must adhere to all policies in the Student Handbook, and that violation of these policies will lead to disciplinary action being taken. I acknowledge that judicial board proceedings are suspended during the summer housing period and disciplinary sanctions will be resolved at the direction of the Residence Life Staff and appealed to the Assistant Dean of Students / Director of Residence Life. I understand that appeals are final at the discretion of the Assistant Dean of Students / Director of Residence Life. I certify that the documentation I provided in accordance to this contract is true and correct to the best of my knowledge. I understand that providing false documentation is cause for my removal from my eligibility for summer housing. I understand that completion of this contract does not guarantee housing during summer
